Friday, November 25, 2005 Guatemalan Airport

Once we arrived in Guatemala it was about 10:30 pm. Customs was a breeze, just stamped our passports. Fortunately, we met this guy named Wayne on our first leg of the flight. He is originally from Bemidji, MN and has been doing mission work in Guatemala for the last 12 years. He gave us a lot of advice and helped us with our shuttle to the Marriot and a bit with the language barrier.

The Marriot is about 10 minutes from the airport. We checked in and put us on the 3rd floor of the hotel. This is where the majority of the families who are adopting stay. They actually have a room called the "baby lounge" that is available to all the adoptive families. It has a lot of amenities. There is small kitchen has a microwave, bottle warmers, dish soap and bottle brushes. It also has a changing area with the changing pad, diapers, wipes, etc. Toys, books and many other necessities are also furnished. Pretty cool. You can tell they cater to families who are adopting. I unpack all our stuff so that we could be ready for our little delivery in the morning.
